User Interfaces

As numerical tools like MOHID become more complex, the need for well structured graphical user interfaces grows. With the development of MOHID Framework, some user interfaces are being built in parallel.

Since 2004, new graphic user interfaces are being developed in .NET platform. MOHID graphical user interfaces are programmed following the same concepts used in MOHID numerical tools and they are developed by the same authors, to assure a constant syncronization between model and graphic interfaces.

They are designed to run in Windows environment (tested in 2000 and XP environments).

MOHID’s graphical user interface is composed by two core programs:

	MOHID GUI
	MOHID GIS

Both of them incorporate other auxiliar tools to handle MOHID outputs. Some examples of them are:

	Mohid PostProcessor
	Converto to HDF 5
	Digital Terrain Creator
	Basin Delineator
	River Network
	Convert to XYZ

MOHID Graphical User Interface (MOHID GUI)

MOHID GUI is a Microsoft Windows based application designed to manage input (pre-processor) and output data files used and generated by MOHID (post-processor). It also serves as the main application which joins all MOHID software. It is written in Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and uses some executable extensions written in FORTRAN 95

MOHID GIS

Data management is getting more and more important and cannot be solved without the use of a geographical information system (GIS). Thus, Mohid GIS was developed to give response to Mohid users needs in this field, allowing to easily input data into the model (e.g. box definition, definition point location for time series outputs, initialise properties fields, create digital terrain models, etc).

Mohid GIS is written in Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and uses some executable extensions written in FORTRAN 95
